Adding life in the bathroom

The bathroom, I mean the walls, the floor and the essential furniture were set up a long time ago. Nevertheless, no one ever took a bath here...it was lacking this extra bit of life which is essential to make a miniature interesting. And, by the way, there were no towels !

I made a Art Nouveau corner cabinet, filled with towels, soap, wooden boxes, and a shaving set. I added a towel rack with embroidered towels, soap box, perfume bottle, bath sponge and a bathrobe with slippers.

The shaving set is by Saint Leger, the wooden Shaker boxes by Bearly Big Enough Miniatures, the razor by Danny Shotton. All gifts from my daughters.

I used silk printed with Japanese designs to make the kimono/bathrobe and the slippers.

As a final touch I have cut a real sponge to miniature size.

  1. Beautiful bathroom, Dominique, now it is full of personal things, it gives a very realistic view to this room. Someone can have left the room and will be back in a moment. The Art Nouveau corner cabinet is a fantastic addition to this room.
I like the mosaic patterns on the floor and the wall, it is beautiful work:D!
    Have a nice weekend.

  10. Hi Dominique! I am totally enamored with this house of yours. You have made it like none other that I have seen using the Willowcrest kit. You have made this house a real home and done it with style and with flair! The wonderful floor is one of the first things that catch the eye and looks like an octopus extending it's arms across the width of the floor. The gorgeous mirror over the sink is absolutely perfect as is the corner cabinet with all of those pieces of eye candy adorning the shelves! The little kimono is also just the right touch hanging on the wall. This is really a usable and beautiful little bathroom! :D
